During the construction phase of the project, Hans always showed up when he said he would (and from what I hear from my friends who have remodeled their kitchens, that's worth remarking upon!) and Jenny seemed to be available almost 24/7 (via email or the phone) to answer questions and concerns. HOME RENOVATION AND ADDITION. Heartwood Construction has completed major renovations on our kitchen and other parts of our house. I have been extremely pleased with the quality of the work that Hans has done. The renovation project has been complicated, with numerous unforeseen obstacles such as existing walls that were out of plumb and many unexpected defects that were hidden behind the existing cabinets and walls. Hans has done an excellent job of figuring out solutions to these problems. He takes pride in the quality of his workmanship and refuses to take shortcuts that produce an inferior job. The company has come up with creative design ideas which have greatly improved the flow of the house, helped in the selection of color schemes, and recommended enhancements such as built-in storage units which have made the house much more livable. HANDICAP ACCESSBILITY AND BATHROOM. We contracted with Heartwood to install a handicapped accessible bathroom, create a room, finish the unfinished part of our basement, and install a floor. The logistics of the bathroom were not easy, but because of Hans’ engineering ability; they were able to create just what we needed. Thor’s craftsmanship is excellent. Jennifer is very knowledgeable and is always just a phone call or e-mail away. They are efficient, neat, and very accessible. We couldn’t wait to see the progress everyday.
